What is Mitzvah Day?
Mitzvah Day is an International day of social action that brings thousands of people of all faiths and of all ages together, to give their time, NOT their money, to make a difference to the local community around them.
Mitzvah Day, takes place this year on Sunday 23rd November 2025
Each year
Each year we have organised different jobs needed around our park and area, followed by fountains of tea or coffee, some mid-morning snacks, whilst chilling and chatting with others.
We are hoping to have the pleasure of you joining us for this year’s Mitzvah Day, truly a treat for all involved
Nature will be providing all participants with a long lasting inner happiness in exchange for just 2/ 3 hours of caring for nature and being with other people in the park.
Our Mitzvah Day starts at Sunday 23rd November 2025 10 am (meet at ParkLife Cafe)
Harrow Weald recreation ground is fortunately a very clean park, in thanks to the amazing community around it; therefore, Mitzvah Day does not offer any hard work, just a few options around the park to help care for humans and bugs alike, with an inspiring feeling of we are all in it together.
Please come and enjoy some time together in our local park, rain or shine, enjoy life and nature, we are alive.

Mitzvah Day 2025:
Calling All Nature Lovers and Bug Enthusiasts! Friends of Bugs, Birds, and Beyond!
This year’s Mitzvah Day project is all about embracing the little creatures that keep our world buzzing (literally) and making our local park a haven for bugs, birds, and humans alike! This is the starting stage of a project we've been planning, and this Mitzvah Day, we will begin laying the foundation for a blooming spring.
Inclusion for all
Please join us and be part of the community that help bugs feel like VIPs, all while making the park sparkle and shine.
If you would like to join us as an individual or group you are welcome to either turn up or contact us.
Litter Picking
We are planning to banish rubbish and trim back those overgrown areas behind the ParkLife Café, all while having a laugh and maybe spotting a bug or two along the way (they’ll be cheering us on and thanking us!).
Park Wellbeing
We'll be clearing the overgrowth in the area around and behind the café to prepare for seeding.
Join us after for:
Homemade vegi hot pot
Soup of the day
Mixture of other editable bits & treats
Small selection of sandwiches
Fountains of tea and coffee
Nice people to chill and chat with
Join us for a day of bug-tastic and human-tastic fun! It's Mitzvah Day, and we're making the world a better place, one park at a time.
Shortage:
We always have a shortage of gardening tools if you have any spare bring them with you if you can donate tools we always appreciate them.
We will have enough for the day, but some of our projects, we are often short.
This year we are adding our - Annual Flag Update Day
Harrow’s World Community Picture (Details)
Sunday 23 November 2025 — 11:52 AM to 12:52 PM - Photo at 12.30 sharp
Join us for a community photo celebrating the wonderfully diverse Harrow we all call home!
Bring the flag of your country or heritage, stand proudly with your neighbours, and be part of Harrow’s World Community Picture — one community, one people, sharing the same air, the same time, and the same smiles.
Every flag tells a story — of where we come from, what we share, and how far we’ve come together.
After the photo, stay for free hot soup, warm drinks, and good company at ParkLife Café — because togetherness always feels better when shared.
Would you like me to make a poster-style layout next (bold headings, tagline like “Bring Your Flag — Be in the Picture!”, suitable for printing or social posts)?
